Mac Barnett serves as the 2025-2026 National Ambassador for Young People's Literature. Barnett and has chosen as his platform, "Behold the Picture Book! Let's Celebrate Stories We Can Feel, Hear, and See." He is encouraging all readers to explore the impactful ways picture books blend words and illustrations, asserting his belief that the picture book is an important American art form and deserves its rightful place among the best of American literature.

In connection with the ambassador's platform, the library staff will be highlighting picture books on the Behold the Piture Book! display shelf.
